Pre-Operation Preparation
This is fundamental to ensuring safe operation and must not be omitted.
Personnel Qualification and Status Verification:
Operators must be certified and familiar with the characteristics of the equipment.
Site Survey and Risk Assessment:
Ground Conditions: Verify that the ground is firm and level. Check for underground pipelines, cavities, slopes, or soft soil. Use load-bearing plates (pads) as necessary to distribute pressure.
Overhead Environment: Observe the work area for overhead power lines, scaffolding, trees, or other obstructions. Maintain an absolute safe distance from power lines (depending on the voltage level).
Work Area: Establish a cordon and work area to keep unauthorized personnel away.
Crane Inspection:
Visual Inspection: Walk around the crane to inspect structural components for cracks or deformation, wire ropes for broken or twisted wires, and hydraulic lines for leaks.
Outrigger Inspection: Verify that all outriggers and pads are intact.
Functional Test: Test the remote control for proper function with no load.
